I drafted him during the season hoping that he'd bump someone out of the rotation (mainly Boof or Sidney). Does anybody know ANY information if/when/chance he'll get called up. Is it worth dropping him now or just wait and see? I'm in a keeper league (we keep 12 guys) and I already have a decently stacked pitching rotation.

i wouldnt rely on Garza being called up. He isnt doing all that great in the minors. He talks bad on management. if your not going to keep him....then let him go for someone that will help you now.

thoughts on mine? thanks

I also had high hopes for Garza and drafted him with my last pick of the draft. I held onto him for a couple of weeks and realized I was burning a roster spot. Drop him now. There's plenty of other young pitchers out there who will probably get a shot before him (Gallardo!)

I just took a flier on him in my 14 team league. Baker got lit up for the 3rd straight time and he is about done in the rotation according to Rotoworld. Garza should take his spot soon....according to Rotoworld.

I still think he'll be up this year. Baker's not going to cut it. Slowey's not great but solid, and I predict he'll stick around. Baker's about to go belly-up, and I wouldn't be surprised at all to see Garza up at some point this season.

Thanks for the information guys. Last season he did struggle, I think he had a couple decent games at most - but nothing to go crazy over. I took him with my last pick and he's been sitting on my bench all year. 25 man roster (al/nl divison) so I kinda got room for now. I just hate seeing 6 of my guys on the DL and a N/A spot too! Too much red ink :)

I thought I read on the Cafe somewhere that Garza was working on his secondary pitches. If that's the case, some of the inflated numbers might be misleading. Anybody got any more info on that?

Garza's still top-flight in my opinion. His heater is nasty and it's only a matter of time...

Yeah, that's what I heard. His fastball is Majors ready, but his other pitches weren't.
