Left Fielders and Late Round Starting Pitchers...

Postby fremontbuck » Fri Jan 30, 2004 5:59 pm

I'm in the late rounds of my keeper draft and I've narrowed my needs down to a 7th SP and a back-up LF for Luis Gonzalez.

Who would you take at:

LF:

Jason Bay or Moises Alou

SP:

John Thomson, Jon Lieber, Darrell MAy, Ryan Franklin, Oliver Perez, and Kris Benson

First go with Alou. Then the next round, grab May. He's a good sleeper for the Royals IMO.

i would take alou, but im not so sure on may. if lieber is healthy when the yankees come north he could be an excellent sleeper. also, john thompson could be a solid option this year. a move to atlanta usually does wonders for pitchers.

I'd take a big time sleeper: Babe Ruth. Hey, you said you wanted a Late, Round, Starting Pitcher. ;-)

As long as he's healthy, I like Lieber. He was a top 3 starter two seasons ago before his Tommy John surgery. Wouldn't surprise me at all if he ends up there again when Brown gets hurt.
Bah, humbug.

I would take Alou and Perez. Perez is a risk, but he has big upside. Besides, late round picks are for risky picks.

I'll go against the grain and go with Bay. You say its a keeper league so he has that edge over Alou and if you do take Alou you're backing up one injury risk with another injury risk.

I'd go with Oliver Perez for the reason Hootie stated.

All are risks, but I think the two best bets are Thompson and May. Very nice sleeper picks. I'm betting on Alou being near the end of the line.
