5X5, 10 team Keeper League. I won last year and have the 10th and 11th pick. How do i spend my first 2 picks?

My Keepers are

C
1B - Thome
2B - Bret Boone
SS - Tejada
3B
1B/3B
UTIL
UTIL
OF - Vlad
OF
OF
OF

SP
SP
SP
SP
RP - Gagne
RP

Some of the Top Players available will be....
Lowell, Oswalt, Schmidt, Posada, Berkman, Luis Gonzales, Derrek Lee, Glaus, Lowell, Posada, Mulder, KBrown, Hudson, Abreu, Carlos Lee

I have 3 train's of thought
1. I need starters, so take the best 2 available
2. Make the most 5X5 of you picks...Abreu and Derrek Lee...
3. Position scarcity....Posada and Lowell or Glaus

I favor pitchers so I would probably take 2 pitchers either of the three Oswalt, Hudson or Schmidt.

i'd def go with two aces..my top two there would def be Schmidt and then close between Hudson and Oswalt. Mulder is just as good as those guys but doesnt k enough batters. You already have some top hitters You dont have to go all on batting, all you need is to plug the holes which you can do later in the draft. Balance wins roto leagues and if you draft two aces, you are well on your way to repeating as champ.

I agree with the others - go 2 strong SP back to back.

Regarding position scarcity, there are a lot of decent Cs available this yr. The only position I would be concerned with is 2b, and you have that covered.

I'd try to grab Tim Hudson and Bobby Abreu.

If it is H2H I would grab 1 pitcher and 1 hitter, if it is ROTO style then I would grab 2 pitchers!.

depends on the salaries you have allocated for batters and pitchers. I would go with a Pitcher with the first pick, and a scarce position second, the salary depends on who you take

Pick 2 of these 4.

Abreu
Berkman
Hudson
Posada

I probably take both outfielders, or 1 outfielder and Hudson.
