Accidental Release

Postby thebaseballjunkie » Tue Jun 12, 2007 10:32 am

Hey guys - I had a GM accidentally release a player in a CBS keeper league that I run.

He emailed me within two minutes of the release to ask that he be reinstated to his team.

Thoughts on this?

Should he automatically get the player back?

Or should he have to claim the player through waivers?

Generally, I think it's okay to just give the player back to the owner, even more so if the owner contacts you immediately.

I would give him the player back immediately. All evidence points to a mistake made in good faith. Hey, as many people tend to forget, this is just a game...

By the way, it depends on your league settings, but in many leagues an owner can't claim on waivers a player he himself dropped. He has to wait for said player to be FA.

I agree with the others. It was an obvious mistake and he should get it back as soon as possible.

That right there would allow him to get the player back.

Yep, it's completely clear that it was a mistake. I would reinstate.
