The one time I did I finshed 6th in an 8 team league. The two times I felt like I didn't draft well I ended up winning the league so you never know....Free agent pickups can be very important!

Well, I felt great about my Yahoo! league draft last year, because every time my pick came around, someone had fallen to me that was supposed to have gone a round earlier.
In the league that I started off the season as playing for next year, I got some great auction/reserve picks to help me in my quest to win this year. NL-only. I got Hoffman $12, Nevin $4, Weeks, VGuerrero at $53 who I traded for Prior at $10, Ensberg $4, LHernandez $5, and at the time my only real question mark was picking up the already injured Paul Byrd for $13.
I had a pretty good draft, last year. I had Prior in the 10th round, Beltran in the 16th round, and Shmidt as the second to last pick in the 21st round. Only problem was that I waived him because I thought he would suck (didn't do very well his first game). and I ended up with some other pitcher. It might have been Dontrelle Willis but I'm not sure since I think he came after but I'm pretty sure it's him. Anyway, then the real steal was when my friend picked him up and he dominated.
