I know very little about future prospects so i was looking for help from you guys. After seeing players like homer bailey, braun and hughes being snatched up in seconds, I was just wondering your thoughts on upcoming stars from the minors. Evan Longoria, justin upton, cameron maybin. I am not sure if they are supposed to come up soon or not but I know they are supposed to be real good. So any advice on some prospects to snatch up would be greatly appreciated. Leave a link and I'll be sure to respond as long as its not in this forum because like i said, i know very little about the minors
Longoria will be up first, followed by Upton Upton will be the best, followed by Longoria.
Maybin doesn't belong in this discussion. People love him for "tools", but in two years, he's done nothing but hit groundballs and steal bases. It will be a long long time before he's valuable in fantasy leagues (if ever).
There is a small chance Longoria moves to 2B, and BJ Upton moves to CF

That sounds about right. However it will take Upton a couple seasons (think 2009) before he passes Longoria, who could play every day in the show now. Upton is most likely still too young to have a significant impact.

i could see a cup of coffee for both in 2007 possibly. Upton is ripping through the minors.

I'll second that motion. Scouts love Maybin for a reason. Huge upside and great tools.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

Feel free to show me where I am wrong. Does he not have an insanely anomlolous BABIP in his minor league career? Will that be sustainable when playing against better fielders as he moves higher up the ladder? Does he not have incredibly poor GB/FB and Line drive rates? Does he not strike out way too much? Has he or has he not developed much slower than Jay Bruce or Colby Rasmus, two guys of the same age, drafted after him int he draft?
How is the post ridiculous when it is completely true? Maybin hasn't done anything in the minors other than beat out groundballs and steal bases. He has shown very little power.
Unless Maybin sells his soul to the Devil and magically improves his hitting approach, it's going to be a very long time before he is worthwhile in fantasy leagues. Both Upton and Longoria will be starting in the majors AT LEAST a year before Maybin, and probably two.
