in h2h average is very important. Almost every week that I went up against someone my overall average was over .300. If you came into my house that week with a sorry hitting team you wouldn't win that category for sure. Dunn is nothing in H2H. He can go 2 weeks of 0/25 and then hit 3 homers in one week. You don't need that kind of production in H2H. you need someone who can go 1/3 or 3/4 every other game at the least

roto its overrated. with guys like dunn in roto, u just gotta try to pick your spots. Personally, i wouldnt start dunn at 1B if i had a half decent back up. I would put dunn in wen it gets on one of his notorious streaks. And if he is really hurting ur team with AVG, but has boosted ur HR, u can just trade him mid season for a high avg guy and it will balance out.

like i said, pick your spots.

Roto is overrated? Don't start that topic again.

I won my league NL only league last year with Dunn and Cruz Jr on my roster. Granted I was 6th in avg, but in a deep NL only league the other stats they give are useful.

I agree always take the guy with a higher average, but I just think the Avg category is taken to the extreme by some owners. I'm just lookin for opinion. Thanks ;-D

To put some of the players mentioned in perspective:

Last season (in a typical twelve-team mixed league), Glaus' average hurt about as much as Winn's home runs.

Dunn's average hurt a team just a little bit more than Pierre's home runs.

I stay away from guys like Glaus and Dunn. They absolutely kill your batting average. Sure, it's nice if either hits 40 homers and gets 100+ rbi, but that would be like having a starting pitcher with a 5.50 era and 30 wins.

No, I haven't done the math to see if that breaks out exactly right, but you get the idea. ;-)
