Non of those above. Maybe Pedro.
And non of them are buy low. Only Pedro.
Santana will command a top player in a trade.
Sabathia is a top 5 starter right now, and hardy be able to top this first half.
Pettitte has a way better first half 3.11 ERA 1.33 WHIP, then he use to have. It is very much possible that he'll decline.
Zito ??? Where did you get that? Last year he sucked after the AS break.
Willis ??? Was he ever better in the second half? He had that one miracle season.
Livan ??? He was ok last year but went south after the break in 2005. He is probably the most unpredictable pitcher with Contreras.
Heres the list I came up in march:
Matt Cain
Andy Pettitte
C.C Sabathia
Dave Bush
Kevin Millwood
Doug Davis
Daniel Cabrera
Derek Lowe
Cliff Lee
Greg Maddux
Roger Clemens
If you missed out on Clemens you missed out on the best second half pitcher. He is the undisputed second half pitcher cause he doesnt play in the first.
What I said about Sabathia is true for Cain and Lowe too.
And Kevin Millwood use to be better but his injury concern is somthing to consider.
Doug Davis and Dave Bush are buy low's and usually postin better #'s in august-september.
And Kenny Rogers is someone to consider too. He hasnt pitched yet so he might pull a "baby Clemens".
I researched late season collapses too:
Bronson Arroyo
Jason Schmidt
Chris Capuano
Justin Verlander
Jeremy Bonderman
Since Arroyo is not a mixed league option anymore, and Schmidt is not the pitcher he was, the Capuano - Bonderman - Verlander trio could be great trade baits.
