I realized Lofton took days off. But does he always sit when a left handed SP is on the mound? if so, this would make knowing when to bench him much easier......

um i guess not ... this is the first time this year hes starting vrs a lefty

Yeah, I benched him because he hadn't played against a lefty yet, but maybe that's going to change.

In general the plan is to sit him against all lefties. He's over 40 and needs the rest anyway. I'm not sure if someone (Lil Cat) wasn't available, or if it was the fact that lefties are hitting better off of Maroth than righties are. Cat has struggled a lot, but I hadn't heard anything of changing the original bench lofton vs lefties plan.
