i think people should take some of these with more than a grain of salt, especially the 07 season ones.

manny ramirez historically has hit LHP better as you'd expect but in 05 he hit .236 against lefties. in 04, he hit righties better. were those stats significant then or were they outliers. and if you want to eliminate outliers i'm not sure what 2 months of split stats is really doing for ya.

Good point. I was actually surprised to see Manny's splits since he's always been very even. But you gotta admit, they are very striking this year. 5 of his 8 HR's are against lefties despite the fact that 2/3 of his AB's have been against right handers. Small sample size but still noteworthy IMO.

grain of salt...definitely

one that comes to mind is the guy that couldn't get that one last out. This year, Schilling was worse on the road, worse in the daytime, and historically un-Schilling-like pitching in Oakland.
