Markakis or Pence ??

There's no way that Pence can keep up this pace, but i dont see why he cant hit at least .300.

I didnt even know Markakis was overachieving, he's not really doing all that great.

Those same words were spoken 8 days ago. He raised his avg from .342 to .375 since then. Pujols called him a "joy to watch" - I concur.

The love for Pence is starting to get out of control.......I'll go ahead and say he won't finish the year at or above a .300 avg

He'll be solid but I'll guess he ends up being dropped, by most, by the end of the season. Lets temper our expectations a little.

If it were that simple, more guys would be doing that and batting .375. Unless Pence's .417 BABIP stays in tact, expect his AVG to take a ride south in the near future. He should be able to maintain a .300 AVG or higher, but he will regress to where he ought to be. Has nothing to do with swinging for the fences or trying to get line drives in every at bat.

Based on how scorching he was throughout most of the second half last year, I think you're right. Pence has been great, but he's not THAT much of a beast.

let's see.... he's at .370 after 140 ABs. If he gets 450 ABs this year, he'll have to bat .268 the rest of the way - starting NOW - to wind up at .300

I suppose it could happen. I'm betting against it.
