On one of my son's teams, he has started seeing the mark(/\) which usually designates next to a pitcher that he is a starting pitcher for that day, appearing on a few offensive hitters too.
Is this something new on Yahoo, or does it mean something else?

It is to show that a player is in the starting lineup ^, not in the starting lineup x, or that the lineup isnt out yet (no indicator if the lineup isnt out).
