1B Prospects

Postby Shaddupu » Thu Jun 07, 2007 9:58 am

12 team 5x5 H2H 25 man roster keeper league----I've got Carlos Delgado as my 1B now, but I'm looking into the future. I need a young up and coming 1B. We have our minor league draft during the All Star break. I'm looking for a 1B who's in the minors now, but will be in the majors in '09. Who are your top 10 1B in the minors? Thanks in advance everyone.

Lars Anderson (Boston) and Kyle Blanks (San Diego) immediately come to mind. They might be a tad further off than '09, though.

Lars Anderson is a good one, as mentioned above. A very well known one is Joey Votto.

As said before, Votto and Anderson are great. One I like personally is Joe Koshansky(not sure on the spelling) from Colorado.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.

It's hard to say whether Koshansky will hav enough to develop into that much. Agreed, he has put up great numbers thus far, but he's already 25 and still in Triple A. Not to mention the fact that he's blocked by the Rockies best player in team history.

Rockies best player in team history.

But thats not saying much. And the Rockies could look to trade Helton, and you've seen his struggles, I wouldn't called Koshansky "blocked" anymore.

If this is a Yahoo league he could be available if you have a bench spot - James Loney. He doesn't project to be a big time power guy like Anderson, but maybe 20-25 HR with a .300 BA.

Well regardless of whether he is blocked or not, Anderson, Votto and Loney are much better options IMO.

What does everyone think of Kala Kaaihue as a 1B prospect? He hit 28 HRs in about 400 ABs last year and so far this season he has 12 HRs in 182 ABs while playing in a pitcher's park at Myrtle Beach.
