But again this makes a bad precedent on all future trades, sometimes the majority opinion is not the best option, as a commish you have to take control and stand by the trade, your friend should understand. Also we don't even know how serious he is hurt.

How is an injury the day after a trade is accepted any different than an injury the day after the trade goes through? Or four days after? Or the next week? Sorry about any bruised feelings, but unless your league has some kind of unique rules structure, it should stand.
If you make the trade stand, is everyone in the league going to turn on you? If they really will think that much less of you, just put it up for a league vote and see what happens. I know we all love fantasy baseball (it's why we're on the Cafe), but it's not worth everyone getting pissed off at each other, especially if you guys are friends.
I'd put it up for a vote. If the majority decides it shouldn't stand, then go with that, even if "technically" the deal should stand like everyone's been saying. It's just fantasy baseball in the grand scheme of things, it's not worth it for some huge issue to come up.
"Oh, that Lankford and McGee, the trio of 'em. They're a one-man wrecking crew."
I'm all about making things ethical but this is a little strange.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it was only a strained left knee. I can't see Ramirez being out for more than 1 week. Two weeks would be an extreme maximum (unless I'm missing something that has been updated on his status). Sounds to me like he's having second thoughts and is using a very minor excuse to get Vlad back.
Anyways, my 2 cents is if it were a serious injury I would probably take back the trade, but not for a tweaked knee. I think he got the better of the deal anyway if you ask me.
Step 1: Tell your league to read this thread. Step 2: Explain the situation to your leaguemates, get their opinion in an open forum - not a vote or anything - just something to show this friend that he is off base.

They way I look at it, these type of trades are what make keeper leagues interesting. By luck you won this battle in the short-term. He'll likely even the score at a later date. But you did not architect A-Ram's misfortune nor should you be punished for it. It's part of League lore.
