It is difficult to get a good set of rankings for H2H leagues. I have tried to use dollar rankings to get a feel, but always have the question of what I should allow for dividing up the $260 budget (ratio).

12 team league with standard 5x5. any recommendations on what variables i should put in when I am trying to get dollar values?

Well, I think most auction leagues use 23-player teams with 14 hitters and 9 pitchers, and usually are split 65:35 for hitting. So if you've got one less hitter to buy, you can spend a little more on pitching, so I'd probably suggest a 63:37 split.

The most commonway of dividing that budget is probably 2/3 to hitting, 1/3 to pitching (or something in that neighborhood), and that's certainly not a bad plan. On the other hand, with so many players dividing their budget this way, changing this ratio a bit - or even radically - can also be effective...
