Ranking the Top Firstbasemen

Thanks for the input, I was torn between Nevin and Sweeney and who should be higher. If enough people feel that way, I may do so. I feel Sweeney is primed for a comeback (obviously, staying healthy is a must)

I would also place Thome 3rd, and probably drop Delgado to 6th behind Sexson.

Here are Delgado's numbers the last 4 seasons.

Delgado had that MVP season in 2000, then had 2 decent but not great seasons. Last year he was back to greatness, and I see a drop to his 2001/2002 numbers again this year. Don't be fooled into thinking this guy is a 1st round caliber player.

Solid list but does Frank Thomas have 1B designation? He only had DH in Yahoo last year.

yeah..he played 27 games at 1b.

Thomas played 27 games at 1B last year; that should meet most requirements.

I know that 1B isn't a thin position, so it doesn't really need to be said, but in most leagues, Aubrey Huff should be listed as a 1B, I don't think I saw him on these lists.

I think he could have a huge year. He's hit over .300 two years in a row, had 34 HR, 107 RBI, 47 doubles (sometimes a pre-curser to power), and 91 Runs on the Rays.

Just to keep in mind. If you're drafting keeper leagues, he may be better than Palmeiro/Big Hurt/Nevin/Bagwell type players who won't be at their levels a couple of years from now.

Also, there's no mention of David Ortiz... I'm not terribly high on him, but he's out there, and will probably get more time than Kevin Millar, better stats then Olerud, and some of those mentioned.

Huff should be in the middle of that list, along with D.Ortiz.
