players dont come off waivers in the morning until around 6am EST or even later. its hardly ever before that and more times than not its after that. ive had a few different times ive been online around 6am EST waiting for a player to come off waivers and each time it was different, but each time it was after 6am EST.

players can be picked up and able to start the next day if you add them the nigght before before 3am EST. if you add someone prior to 3am EST you can have them in your lineup the next day. if its after that they wont be available until the day after the next day.
one way to tell on this is it says when your about to add the player. at the top it will say Add Player, Note: "This transaction will be reflected on your lineup for" and then it will say the date in which you can use that player in the lineup.

3. yes...there is a way. to check if a team has a waiver bid, propose your whole team in a trade for their whole team. you will get an error if they have put in a waiver bid. some will call it cheating...but I can't say I havent done it before
