Just gone done watching a double header, Vandy vs. Austin Peay/Michigan. Even though he stuggled rather bad, I love watching Pedro Alvarez hit. Most scouts say that they would take Alvarez over teammate David Price. Is there anyone who will rival Alvarez for the 1st overall pick next year? Even give him a little fight?
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.
Smoak- 1B not sure exactly where he plays but, he's suppose to be good but, hey I live in Canada so I don't get to see these kids play. Usually my first time seeing these kids in the scout videos before draft day. I honestly doubt anyone beats Alvarez for #1 next year from what I've heard but Smoak might be his best competition.
I played against Pedro in middle school. True story.
She said always remember never to trust me She said that the first night that she met me She said "there's gonna be a time when I'm gonna have to go with whoever's gonna get me the highest."

Yeah, that is neat. Ive got some stories like that. See my sig? John Danks is one of my friends cousins, and I used to play backyard wiffle ball with him.
Also, I played with Ben Revere(Twins 29th overall pick) at a High School Showcase.

I played against Michael Main this year.
I think that Justin Smoak, 1B, University of South Carolina will go number one. Alvarez is really good, and depending on the team that picks first (Nationals, Reds, Royals, etc.) he could go number one.
Then only thing stopping Smoak go number one is that he plays first base. Scouts and teams usually like to pick the more athletic player. If you want to watch him, he is on ESPN2 right now.
I hooked up Troy O'Leary's cable service back in the day... he was a Brewer's prospect back then right before he was traded to Boston. Class guy didn't even ask me to give him free HBO...
Was Danks good at Whiffle Ball? Did u notice the talent back then?
Well, it was a long time ago, and he was about 15-16 or so while I was more like 10-11. His brother Jordan Danks(U of Texas outfielder) was there too. I probably couldnt have told you both would be big time baseball players, but yeah, they were good. BUt of course, being that much older than I, you would expect that.
Anyway, interesting story: John is the dad in the family and was a 3 sport star at U of Texas if Im not mistaken. Very athletic. Then, of course, there is John who pitches for the White Sox. Jordan is a first team All American Freshman, big time player at Texas. But from what I hear from the relatives of them who live in my home town, the little sister is the best athlete. I think she is 12 or 13, and apparently dominates on the volleyball court. No joke.
