Just mentioned this in the Player Update forum, but this is from Sportsline:
News: 3B Joe Crede faces the possibility of back surgery that could jeopardize his 2007 season and possibly his White Sox career, according to the Chicago Tribune. Crede will seek opinions from renowned specialists Andrew Dossett of Dallas and Robert Watkins of Los Angeles after visiting Wednesday with Frank Phillips of Rush University Medical Center. An MRI confirmed two herniated discs as well as fluid that is irritating the sciatic nerves. Another option, more serious, would require a small incision in which fluid is sucked out of the area and would require at least a month to heal before a rehabilitation program that could take another month, Crede said. The third option—disc surgery—could mean he would be lost for the rest of the season.
Analysis: This does not sound good. Keep Crede reserved in all leagues and hope he can find a way to come back, but it would not be surprising if he's out for an extended period of time.
"All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated and well supported in logic and argument than others."
