Where I personally think it's premature to call him the best closer in the game, it's certainly up for debate.

Yes but Hoffman has more saves than anyone so he IS the best ever

This post just opened my eyes to something that I never really considered....and actually I am quite glad I read this thread...maybe they are grooming Okajima for the closer role so that they can put Papelbon in the rotation. They were going to make Papelbon a starter prior to the season starting but they didnt have a closer to fill his spot. I am going to watch this closely because I have Papelbon and am going to be quick to pickup Okajima if this happens. I know this might be a reach and probably wont happen but I just find it odd that Papelbon is splitting saves with Okajima. Just a thought.
