How is it east coast bias if both teams are on the east coast?

Or if you're talking about Morgan's quote that Papelbon is the best closer ever, then I don't think you hear much of what Morgan says that almost no one takes it seriously.

So who is the best closer in baseball right now? Well obviously it's Francisco Cordero.

21 Saves, 33 K's, 0.39 ERA. That's domination.

I was just tryin to say that Morgan and Miller exaggerate way too much...also can we go one Sunday night without Morgan saying how great Bob Gibson or the Big Red machine was.

"East Coast Bias" as in, player is ranked several notches higher than others (especially on ESPN) just because they play for the Red Sox or Yankees.

Anyone ever heard of Joe Nathan?

Idiots.

I am a huge Nathan fan, I would take him over Paplebon any day.

Definitely, most baseball people who pay close attention know it goes K-Rod and Nathan, then everyone else.

I'm not knocking Papelbon (except he seems to need rest more than a lot of closers), 'cause I think he has been one of the top closers, I'm just gripin' about east coast bias because that's what we do here in the midwest. I'd put Paps in the Top 5 no problem, in fact he's probably the 3rd best closer right now in terms of performance when called upon.

Papelbon is top 5 without a doubt. The top closer int he league is K-Rod.

I'd probably say, coiming into the year it was:

K-Rod
Nathan
Rivera
Wagner
Papelbon

Based on what we've seen so far:

K-Rod
Wagner
Papelbon
Nathan
Rivera

How good can he be if they have to baby his arm like a 5 year old? Francona doesn't even want to use him back to back nights so he can "save his arm" for later. I have never heard that about KRod, Nathan, or Mariano.

I totally agree with that, he's a little soft for a closer.
