A little something I've been working on might give you a little more info. come draft day.
San Diego Petco (new) Qualcomm (old)
Left 334 327
Left-Cente 367 370
Center 390 405
Right-Center 387 370
Right 322 330
Summary: As you can see, being a left-handed hitter in this park will not be fun. In fact, right-handed hitters have a 20-foot advantage in the power alley. Look for guys like Giles and Klesko to struggle while Nevin gets his numbers healthy again.
Philadelphia Phillies (new) Veteran’s (old)
Left 329 330
Left-Center 369 371
Center 401 408
Right-Center 369 371
Right 330 330
Summary: Almost exactly the same, what can I say?
Kansas City Kaufman (new) Kaufman (old)
Left 330 320
Left-Center 385 375
Center 410 400
Right-Center 385 375
Right 330 320
Summary: This is a big difference in Kansas City, where marginal sluggers like Sweeney and Beltran will definitely feel the difference now that the walls are back 10 feet. Look for Kaufman to return to the pitcher’s park it was in the mid-90’s when the fences were where they are now.
In my next article I will begin breaking down position rankings starting with catcher. See you in a week!

WARTHOG nice time and analysis in the park changes, but dimensions alone aren't enough to gauge a index. What dimension changes fail to recognize in the new parks (Philly/SD), is the size of the wall, same/higher/lower? Did foul territory increase/decrease? Is the hitting background CF better/worse? How will the new outfield or scoreboard, effect the wind currents? Simply looking at outfield dimensions will only be a piece of the pie, except KC, where that's the only change.
Kauffman was such a extreme hitters park, that i think 10 feet will make it neutral at worst. Comerica brought the fences in 20 feet, and the park didn't become a hitters park.
