Mainly because he is not really that good. He will serve a much better purpose for us as the LOOGY then as a starter. I would probably rank him as the 12th best arm we have in the minors, and even though yesterday was awesome, I don't think he will have that type of luck with a 85 mph fastball the rest of the year.

I personally love Howell

if you can strike out alot of guys ((which he has always been able to do)) with only an 85-87 MPH Fastball than that means your offspeed stuff is insane

I agree that he wont be a starter next year. If a hitter can figure out his offspeed stuff then hes done and if he keeps going through the opposing lineup 2 times it will happen so I like him more as a change of pace lefty from the bullpen to make room to our future 09 rotation which should look something like
