is it good to pick up Bailey?
the start on Saturday is @Cincinnati against Cleveland. with Cleveland's offence is that such a good start for Bailey? Cleveland on the road has the 3rd most runs scored in baseball with .268 AVG, .347 OBP, .440 SLG, .787 OPS.
they also mention Thursday, which IMO would be a better start for Bailey on the road against St.Louis.
if he starts saturday his next likely starts after Cleveland would be Texas, @Oakland, @Philadelphia
if he starts Thursday his next likely starts after St.Louis would be LAAngels, @Oakland, @Seattle
rototimes.com/mlb/probables.php has Belisle scheduled for Saturday, Lohse scheduled for Friday, and Livingston scheduled for Thursday. obviously Livingston wont be starting Thursday so maybe that will be Bailey's start?
Starting on the road would be preferrable for bailey but as the article states it is likely that lohse goes thursday and bailey makes his debut on saturday at home---good for ticket sales even though that indians game shouldnt be a problem selling out anyways.
The Reds are expected to call up Homer Bailey to make his major league debut Saturday against the Indians.
The club didn't officially announce it, but the choice has already been made, both the Enquirer and the Post believe. Bailey will be facing one of the game's best offenses, so the smart play would be to keep him reserved for his first start up. He should be worth using in NL-only leagues after that, and mixed leaguers will want to keep a close eye on him.
I'm not a big fan of this move. I don't think he is ready although he should be better than 3/5 of Cincy's rotaiton. He's got great stuff but I think he will struggle a bit with his command. Plus GBA is a freaking launching pad.
But then again I thought Felix, Cain and Hughes were all rushed as well and they pitched pretty well when first called up.

Is he the real deal? After being hyped up before the beginning of the season, it feels like he's been lost in the midst of all the Hughes, Lincecum, and Gallardo hype. Is he still worth a #1 waiver or should people take more of a wait and see approach?
