I don't know much about this guy, I know he's not a strikeout pitcher, but he's been amazing so far. Is he worth picking up?

He is only tentatively scheduled to pitch 1 more game, and then they will have to think about bring Hensley back... who knows what they will do if Germano keeps pitching well, I picked him up and got 3 solid starts out of him so far.... pick him up if you have a scrub to toss away.

He doesn't strike people out, but his K/BB ratio is still 5/1 because he never walks anyone.
He has started 5 games and has a total of 2 walks. He has not given up more than 1 hit/inn in any of his starts.
He has been solid and consistent. He may not be able to keep it up, but there are plenty of pitchers that are effective without striking people out like Glavine and Moyer.

He's 4-0 with a 1.74 ERA / .81 WHIP.

Will definitely get another start against Seattle in SD on Friday, I can't imagine the Pads replacing him w/Hensley unless he falters badly.

His last start is probably what we can expect, probably slightly worse, if he keeps his job. I rode him for 3 of his wins, but that's where his value stopped. No trade value, because everyone knows he's either not going to keep it up or he's going to be sent back down. MLB hitters will quickly figure him out. They have in the past. !+)

hes got a very low K/9 at 2.90 but makes up for it with a miniscule BB/9 of 0.58

the problem here is the BABIP and LOB%, his BABIP is a very low .205 and that should be expected to rise more towards the average .300 mark, i think i read that only 3 or 4 pitchers a year even have a BABIP below .250 and i really doubt germano has the ability to keep a BABIP that low...also his LOB% is incredibly high at 87%, a very good indicator of luck, especially seeing as how he has such a low K rate, this should regress toward to mean of around 70% as well

i've never actually seen him pitch so i'm going completely off the stats and nothing else so take this with a grain of salt, but i really dont think he can maintain a hit rate of 6.67/9, thats incredibly low for a pitcher who strikes out so few batters...his numbers suggest hes been very lucky and i would expect to see some regression if he continues to start
