Is this trade vetoable?

Postby The Loveable Losers » Sat Jun 02, 2007 7:46 pm

14 team 5x5 h2h league with k/9 instead of k's, daily changes and 6 keepers. Standard yahoo rosters with 2 dl slots.

Team A gets:
Carlos Zambrano
Equivalent of a 10th round draft pick in 2008 (4th rounder in the redraft)

Team B gets:
Vernon Wells
Equivalent of a 21st round draft pick in 2008 (15th rounder in the redraft)

Who gets the better end of the deal? I think people would say Wells, but I'm not so sure. It is a lot higher draft pick in the end as well going to the Zambrano side. I could do the deal on either side.

No...not even close to vetoable. And in the spirit of win now, I'd rather have the Wells side...Big Z looks lost out there this season.

Def not vetoable. In fact, the side of who's winning in this trade isn't even that obvious at first glance. Both players are sell lows right now but just based on personal preference I'd say Wells wins by a bit.

Not even close. To suggest a veto in this situation makes no sense whatsoever to me. I wouldn't even know which side to prefer.

Um, why would that be vetoable? Whose side is making out like bandits here?

I would rather have the Czam side, mainly due to most of my teams sucking this year on the pitching side. I don't see any reason for a veto unless the two parties have had a bad arrangement in the past, and since I assume LL is one of the parties, I know that is not the case. I am going to be willing to bet that the guy that owns Czam right now is scared off by this past Braves game and wants to get whatever he can for Czam right now, which is the reason why the pick upgrade favors the guy getting Czam.

If this got vetoed in any of my leagues, I would first find out who and why, and if it looked like something that may repeat itself in the future, I'd simply find new people to play with next year. An owner needs to have the right to run his team as he sees fit, especially in a keeper style league like this one. What a joke.
