The Sox called him up due to the injury to Erstad. For some reason I got the impression that they were never that high on him or that he disappointed them in some way.
In his first game tonight he did exactly what they need right now. A leadoff hitter with SB potential a la Pods 2 years ago and seeing him tonight he is exactly what the Sox need at the top of the order: a spark plug.
I do think that tonight is way too small a sample size and that this should be monitored over the next 2 weeks.
As a Sox fan I hope he works out...put Pods and Erstad out to graze.

do you think this guy has a chance of staying on the team if he produces well or are the soxs committed to sticking with Erstad when he comes back?

How long is Erstad signed for? Do the White Sox have a chance i the central? I don't think so. So why not see what the future is now. They must think he can produce. They brought him up over Brian Anderson.

If he produces, he will stay up. The Sox could use anything to help this offense right now.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.
