2002 Sleepers

Last year we had names like Berkman, Pujols, and Dunn.

Who do you think will be this year's sleepers? Austin Kearns is off toa good start. Eric Hinske comes to mind. Kenny Rogers seems to be having a sleeper year. Any others?

Hard to say, but a few people come to my mind.

Eric Gagne, Mike Williams, both saving a lot of fantasy owners.

Paul Byrd was nowhere to be seen on draft lists but had an impressive start with great stats.

I think there's a ton of sleepers.

Michael Barrett
Austin Kearns
Shea Hillenbrand
Junior Spivey

I don't know if he qualifies as a sleeper, but I think David Eckstein is poised to have a very good season.

Lots of good ones here. Eckstein certainly qualifies in my book.

What would you call Irabu? If these guys are sleepers, Irabu was comatose. (Ok, so a guy who lucks into the closers role might not technically be a sleeper, but he still deserves a mention).

I think we've yet to see the true sleepers this year. Many of those already mentioned are beginning to slide.

Patterson is one I think will continue to produce all year long.

Fogg, Hillenfad, Williams, Byrd will all be mediocre by years end.

From here on, the Padres' call-up pitchers could have an impact.

I agree with Kearns. The way he is playing, he might be the Lance Berkman of last year.

Hinske comes to mind as well.
