I got
Webb, K-Rod, Rios
for
Sizemore, E. Santana, Valverde
Valverde has been as good as K-Rod and Sizemore kills Rios. Webb has been alright but I didn't realize the amount of starting pitching available on the WW and he could have been replaced easy
I would still make that trade if I were you. Sizemore is better than Rios, but it isn't that big of a gap. Krod is much better than Valverde, and Santana will kill you by himself if you start him on the road.
hahaha everyone should stop posting because this is obviously the worst trade...
Jeff or Jered. Yes, that one is pretty bad but everything is in retrospect.
This one was not only bad in retrospect but it was bad at the time as well. I recently posted something comparing Tex and Fielder coming into the season in the Prince thread. Coming into the season i see no reason why you wouldn't rank the too as equals. And peavy is a much better pitcher than jered. Peavy has a better track record and better strike out potential. Sorry to pick on you man but this one was doomed to work out bad for you...
1. Halladay for Dye/Bush - Beginning of the season
2. Rios for Granderson - few games into the season
3. Sizemore/Lee for Howard/Snell/Rios - the night Howard hurt his leg
4. Verlander/V.Martinez/Lincecum for Halladay/Freel/Lidge - right before Doc's two nightmare games
5. Halladay/C. Cordero/Iguchi for Colon/Valverde - right before news that Doc coming back early and cordero finished dealing with death of his grandma
6. Pujols/Atkins for Wright/Helton - a week ago before Pujols couple HRs
7. ARod/Hoffman/Kazmir for Vladdy/Smoltz/Jenks - right before Smoltz hurt his shoulder
Bad:
1. Wright/Dotel for ARam/Capuano - beginning of the year, doesn't matter anymore cuz I don't have Wright anymore
2. Clemens/Santana - Fielder - this one hurt as I went against the advice of a few of your guys. At the time I had Berkman/Tex/Fielder/Helton.
3. Dunn/C.Cordero for Teixeira - not too bad but not the best either.
Dont you guys think its a tad early to tell the best and worst trades?
Im sure somebody in 2005 could have traded their Bobby Abreu for someone elses Todd Helton at the beginning of the season. At this point, yes it would look like a total ripoff at this point because Abreu just finished a fantastic May and Todd Helton would still be in the midst of a huge slump. However, the owner who got Todd Helton in the trade would have the last laugh because Helton went on to be one of the best 2nd half players of 2005 and we all know Abreu was a completely different player after the HR derby in 2005.
You just never know how things will play out until its all said and done.
