Is my team destined for greatness?

Postby Rusty Syringe » Fri Jun 01, 2007 12:04 pm

Hey all. Currently I'm in 6th place in my league. Can my team pull out a run for the top or will I be stuck middle of the pack?

12 Team League
Standard 5x5 Roto

Batting
C A.J. Pierzynski (CWS - C)
1B Albert Pujols (StL - 1B)
2B Josh Barfield (Cle - 2B)
3B Mike Lowell (Bos - 3B)
SS Jimmy Rollins (Phi - SS)
OF Hunter Pence (Hou - OF)
OF Juan Pierre (LAD - OF)
OF Andruw Jones (Atl - OF)
Util Eric Byrnes (Ari - OF)
BN Ken Griffey Jr. (Cin - OF)
BN Jim Thome (CWS - Util)
BN Chipper Jones (Atl - 3B)

Pitching
SP A.J. Burnett (Tor - SP)
SP John Maine (NYM - SP)
RP Mariano Rivera (NYY - RP)
RP Joe Borowski (Cle - RP)
P Eric Gagne (Tex - RP)
P Kevin Slowey (Min - SP)
P Brandon Webb (Ari - SP)
BN Barry Zito (SF - SP)
BN Hideki Okajima (Bos - RP)

I'm putting up solid offense but the problem is pitching. I'm near the bottom in terms of W/ERA/WHIP. Should I trade Thome/Jones/Griffey for a solid starter?

Try trading Thome or Griffey or both to get a good starter. Ya...you're pitching is very weak :(

Take a look at my team and tell me how I'm doing. I'm currently in 5th but just made a sweet trade and got Santana and Cabrera :)

since thome is sitting on your bench (which he shouldn't be), trade him or trade someone to make room for him...if chipper turns out to be ok i would sell high on lowell to try and get some more pitching as well

sorry guy, dont think so. pujols will be pujols, so thats not a worry, but it looks like you are depending too much on the players that are currently hot or the trendy guys. of barfield, pence, lowell, slowey, and maine i dont see more of two of those guys finishing according to the pace they have now. of those guys barfield was probably the only one on everyones draft list. trust your projections man.. target guys who arent playing well now but have high projections.

You need some pitching, trade McGriff before he gets hurt. You can probably trade Griff and one of your SPs for a stud.
