For the A list I would add Toby Hall and Beltre (tired of waiting for these guys to break out)
For the B list:
Pettitte
Ichiro
Beckett - great postseason moved him up the draft board but he has never pitched 150 Innings - not a third rounder until he pitches one injury-free season
Halladay and Nomar - good players but not first rounders for me
Kaz Matsui - all hype so far
Teixeira - being taken way too soon
put your beer down...............ok your safe now.....my vote and Ive never been more sure of anything, ok maybe that the ex-wife was a spawn of satan but back to the vote.......... BARRY LAMAR BONDS is going to fall off the face of the fantasy world. just a hunch, but with all the scrutiny of steroids (congress, FBI) I think ole bondsie is gonna be lucky to hit 30HR 80RBI(cause no one can get on base) and 75 RUNS (because again no one can hit). just a thought

An excellent topic. The funny thing is, if you count up all the "B" category players people mentioned, i's over 30 to stay away from. That's about 3 rounds of players. There is a good argument for every player mentioned that a lot of managers draft them too high.

You'd think, wouldn't you. Last year in my pool, some clown took Griffey in the 4th Round based on the mashing he was doing in spring training. Some people never learn.
I said he'd merit his draft position because he's going very late. Not 4th round, but much later than that. I wouldn't take a risk on him if there were sure-thing OF's still available. But based on his potential, you can't just eliminate him from cheat sheets.
"Jack, will you call me, if you're able?"

Rhodes...never done well closing.
David Ortiz...career year
Mueller...like he repeats that performance
Javy Lopez...career year
Dye...why bother at all
Dunn...see Dye
Kaz Matsui...going pretty high in some drafts I have seen
Cameron...is there a more overrated CF in MLB
Victor Martinez..overhyped even for a C (can you say Ben Petrick)
Beltre...pick year and year out as some retain hope

As long as Im not the one doing it but a few in my league are, than that's ok by me.
I think a gamble is right depending on your situation. A guy in my league inherited a team that finished last. He ended up in in the same place with the team. It's just not a very good team and he's unlikely to contend this year. If I am him, I take a chance on Griffey in round 10-15. If Griffey bombs, it's really only the difference between finishing 12th versus 14th or 16th. But, if Griffey rebounds, he's either got a keeper or someone he might be able to flip for multiple building blocks for next year.
Schilling (even though I love the sox)
Vazquez (another Weaver)
Loaiza
Damon (The slide continues)
Bernie Williams (will he even have a job)
Padilla (downward spiral starts now)
Javy Lopez (I think this is obvious)
IROD (if he's a tiger it could get ugly)
Escobar (way too high hopes for him)
Beltre

I felt the need to respond to this one. Javier Vazquez is going to be another Jeff Weaver? R U Serious? I'd love to hear why, because I am boggled. They aren't even close to being the same pitcher. Bernie Williams will have a job, he will be the everyday DH, which is better for him anyway, saves the wear from having to patrol CF. Some huge Yanks fan moron manager will overpay/overdraft him. I can sort of understand Schilling, there's usually 2-3 managers in everyone's league who draft SP way too high, and he will be one of them. But he'll still be a top 10 SP for sure. I agree that the rest of the list has some red flags raised.
