Didn't some other athlete try to do this on one of those Fox specials? I'm thinking it was Carl Lewis. :-?

I believe it was Ben Johnson vs. car vs. Horse. I think the horse won because it was a short distance so the car had to accelerate and all.

Horse definitely, I seriously doubt a man can keep up with a horse over 11/16 miles, that's long

It was sprinter Sean Crawford versus a Giraffe and a Zebra. ;-D

I saw the first episode of Man vs. Beast, and this was on it. Crawford beat the giraffe but got destroyed by the zebra. My co-workers and I were discussing this a couple days ago, so that's why my memory seems so fresh.

And the horse may teach "Ocho Cinco" a new TD celebration when it wins this race. :-b

Bengals WR Chad Johnson will race against a horse on June 9 at River Downs, according to the CINCINNATI INQUIRER.

To benefit the charity "Feed the Children," Johnson will try to match strides with a 4-year-old colt named Restore the Roar over RD's turf course.

The event, billed as "Man vs. Beast," will be the feature race and will be simulcast to more than 400 outlets across the country and in South America.

The horse will break from the inside from a starting gate at the eighth pole, and Johnson will break from the outside rail going 11/16 of a mile to the wire. The distances are calculated to create a photo finish.

yeah they made it so their speeds would balance out in the end. i guess its a matter of who wants it more and can go higher than their average speed.
