Not sure if anybody else has said this already...

I just got home so I dont know it first hand, but my roommate was watching the FSN bay area coverage of the game and he said that relatively early on in the game they said that Benitez would not be available because of a sore shoulder. So it may not mean that he has totally lost the job...yet

Regardless if Blownitez was sitting out cause of injury or whatever, I think Henn should be picked up. He's the greatest shot IMO of any other setup guy in the majors to take over the closers job of their team right now.

I really hope this move sticks. I've had Hen for a while now, and I desperately need another closer. I'm in a holds league and I have 5 guys who are next in line if a closer fails (Hennessey, Scot Sheilds, Linebrink, Betancourt, Okajima), but only 2 closers since BJ Ryan went down. I've been standing pat, assuming that one of these guys will get a chance eventually (meanwhile, my team is in a dreadful slump, but at least I'm cleaning up in holds).

So, go Hennessey!

News: Benitez was unavailable to pitch Wednesday after having fluid drained from his right knee, the team's official site reports.

Spin: Benitez injured himself Tuesday, when he suffered a blown save while committing two balks in the Giants' 12-inning defeat to the Mets. The injury is only supposed to sideline him for a few games.
