It's a strategic move, I guess, but a poor one in my opinion. There's absolutely no ground for complaining about it. It's the owner's right to hurt his chances as much as he wants.

Is there a rule that says you have to start a catcher? Usually, the rules just say you have to have one on your roster.

They do?? I have never played in a league that forced you to field a complete team. You do bring up a good point, though. If it's in the rules, he's breaking the rules. If not, no biggie.
