the problem is that he won't be able to - eventually it will take a toll on his body, whether it's DL stints over the course of a year, or just a generally shortened career. it's hard to argue that if he was in better shape that he wouldn't perform better.

Well,
I've never seen him with his shirt off or anything but his arms are huge and his forearms are ripped. I would assume there is a lot of muscle underneath his shirt just covered with a layer of fat.
I don't think he is just "fat."
That is what I meant.
I am a New York Jets, New York Mets, and New York Knicks fan. I know misery like few other sports fans know ...

Prince is solid. He is not really all that fat.
One of the Milwaukee announcers said that the organization are concerned about Prince because his father had a bigger frame to carry all of that weight around. Prince is a short tank-like guy. They are hoping that in the long run that he can cope with all of those pounds for the long haul.
They also described Prince's mean mug after getting brushed back at the plate. He proceeded to mash the ball and get on base. Then he was able to score after another batter that followed him got a basehit. The announcer said that when he was rounding third you could see him getting into "football mode" and gearing up for revenge.....in the form of a planned collision with the catcher.
The announcer said can you imagine seeing this guy rounding third and you are the catcher at the plate...or having this guy bearing down on you at second base. Soon we could see football pads on the baseball diamond.

These guys can clearly produce despite being overweight, sometimes grossly so. Makes you wonder how much better they could be if they actually stayed in shape.
