I am traveling to Colorado over the 4th of July and was wondering if there is anything I should do beforehand to avoid getting sick because of the high altitude. Thanks
Unless you're going to be mountain climbing, or doing something extremely exerting, like running a marathon in high altitude, you won't be high enough to get altitude sickness. You may find yourself feeling more lathargic than usual, but that's about it. Colorado is an amazing state, enjoy your visit!
i go to colorado 2wice a year. Love it there but when i wasnt used to it, i would get dizzy when i golfed, but thts the only thing i ever noticed really. I didnt really do anything but now its gone cuz im used to there
I usually go to Boulder (near Denver) every summer, which I beieve is pretty high up, and I've never had a problem. It does get very hot there around that time though.
The only time I had a problem when I went there was going up to Pike's Peak. Just walking around I'd say you'd be fine, but still drink plenty of water.
