in a league where 180 players are kept, he's not a terrible guy to have on a roster this year, and i'm sure he won't be next season. he's 177 in the yahoo game over the last month (now that the algorithm has been improved, i can actually throw out a yahoo rank) -- while he won't be a top 10 this season, i certainly can't say 'i would not trade for him'. he's not fast and the power is cetainly lacking at this point (he's only 22), but an OBP of .372 in the 2-hole in that lineup usually means good things

His .372 OBP is in the 6-7 hole now isn't it?

To answer the original question, like Matt said,he has value as a keeper league where you keep that many players.

Maybe in a few of the poorer teams or those with ordinary SS options but as the original poster said, it's unlikely he would keep him in his top 12. So why trade for him this year?

1. Radar guns are notoriously inaccurate (check out the Fox radar guns being 4+ mph faster than the stadium guns).
2. People don't radar SS's turning DPs.
3. People definitely don't radar high school SS's turning DPs.

2. How do you know they didn't want to see how fast he threw? You are positive that never in the history of the world has anyone ever Radar gunned a SS throwing from second base to first. Also, why would they lie about that when he was obviously a highly scouted player. You are implying that a scout wouldn't be interested in how fast he threw the baseball from SS?

3. People might not radar high school players (and when I say they might not I really mean they definitely do) but he was in College so unless you don't understand the difference between College and High school or you spell College and high school the same you are wrong again.

And have you ever seen him throw the ball. He has a cannon and its been talked about a lot here in Denver.

So please next time possibly try to get 1 out of you 3 points correct or nearly accurate.
