Roster advice for the long haul...WHIR

Postby pasterofmuppets » Tue May 29, 2007 11:55 am

Currently in first place in my league, thought I'm not sure how long that'll last. Managed to luck out on facing managers on their off-weeks, even with my slow-starting line-up :-°

Would love to get some input from you guys on strengthening up my team for the long haul. Of course, WHIR

Seems to me like the biggest problem might be that a lot of your hitters are off to slow starts, especially at 1B/3B where most people depend on power. Konerko, LaRoche and Zimmerman are all starting to heat up though, so things should improve. Have you considered waiting for their numbers to pick up a bit more, then trying to package Konerko or LaRoche and Zimmerman (with maybe a pitcher thrown in) for a guy like Miguel Cabrera? Just a thought.

Thanks for the help on mine!

How the Heck are you in first place? I mean sure u have Posada who is hot right now. Chone has started of slow since he has been back but will start to come around in these next couple of weeks. I dont really see anybody with alot of runs. You should get a good lead off hitter and some stolen bases with one of ur power hitters maybe? Anyways im not good at this. Please comment on mine. Its like 1 or 2 below yours ;-)

IMO the fact that somehow you've managed to be in 1st without a bunch of key guys really contributing is a testament to you, so Congrats!! I say you have guys like Chone, Berkman and Abreu who you would only think are going to get better. You look decent to me. thanks for answering mine.

Thanks for the help guys. But don't you guys think that my pitching could use a bit of help. My best performing pitcher right now is Ollie (who woulda thought of that) I feel like maybe I should make a move for an ace... but I was thinking maybe my over-achieving pitching lineup could carry me through. I also have Pedro stashed for the second half when he does come back (and hopefully be the ace he's always been)
