Am I carrying too many SP's?

Fantasy points league: 162 game limit for starters.

Predictable starts, high K rates, and low H seem to be personify the ideal starter. My roster:

Johan Santana
Felix Hernandez
Dan Haren
Roger Clemens
Scott Kazmir
Derek Lowe
Greg Maddux
Ervin Santana
Yovanni Gallardo
Phil Hughes (DL spot)

Am I carrying too many pitchers? I obviously can't start them all. Typically, I start Johan, Felix, Haren, Kazmir, and now Clemens every game, and spot start the others to stay on the game pace. This means that Lowe, Maddux, and Santana don't start very often. I'm not sure what to do if I need to get rid of someone, I like Maddux and Ervin at home (predictable starts), and I hate to just cut someone (league almost NEVER trades). I am only carrying 3 bench position players, but there is very little available on the WW. What would you do? Thanks in advance.

If this isnt a keeper/dynasty league, I would Cut either Gallardo or Santana.(ervin, that is.) Try and pick up an offensive player who can contribute in one of the following:

1. Dominates one category- maybe they aren't a great player, but they can really help alot in one certain category, such as Shane Victorino or Chris Duffy with steals.

2. A utility guy- A player who can play 3-5 different positions and gives your team lots of flexibility.

3. Backup- A guy who plays behind an Injury Prone player or plays behind one of the players on your team.

Do you have GP limits for your pitchers or is that based on IP??

Its a games limit, 162 games started, 140 games relieved.

Assuming you start 9 position players, the three bench hitters you have should be more than enough. I'd rather have the starting pitchers to play the match ups like you have been doing than carry a batter who will get into my lineup a handful of times per month.

I'd stick with the pitchers. If you are projected to go over your games played limit, then just be more selective with the pitcher's match ups. And if there's not much offense on the waiver wire, all the more reason to stand pat.

depends how many bench spots you have also. if its an odd number of bench spots i like to have one more pitcher then batter. but out of the pitchers you dont start i liek lowe the most. so maybe if you want another util guy offer a trade for him.
