much more balanced that way Besides, Duquette already said that's Howe's top five in the order.

1. Kaz Matsui
2. Jose Reyes
3. Mike Piazza
4. Cliff Floyd
5. Jason Phillips
6. Karim Garcia/Roger Cedeno/et al
7. Mike Cameron
8. Ty Wigginton

Phillips is a demonstrably better hitter than Cameron, not to mention more consistent. Plus a higher OBP makes him better in the 5-hole.

The revolving right field will likely bat 6th for lefty/righty reasons. Most days (against RH pitching) it will go L-L-R-L-R-L-R-R. That slot is also more likely to get PHed for late in the game (or replaced for defense -- not Cameron) as well (see: Timo).

Phillips has 1 year under his belt. I dont think that demonstrates hes a better hitter. Cameron has the edge in power and Howe has already said he's hitting fifth.

the lineup should be
1)Matusi
2)Reyes
3)Floyd
4)Piazza
5)Camron
6)Phillips
7)Garcia
8)Wiggington
9)pitcher
I THINK Al Lieter should start first.

If they can get everyone back healthy that lineup could put up alot of runs.

There will come a day when Barry Bonds leaves baseball, and everything about the game will be the better for it.
