Price will really need to work on his offspeed stuff when he gets to the minors...Im not nearly as sold on him as most in the cafe are...Snider has just as much upside...The guy can freaking rake

There is a reason that only 5 SPs (Santana, Oswalt, Carpenter, Peavy, & Zambrano) are taken in the 1st 5 rounds in most fantasy drafts. So, thats 5 starters taken and 55 other positions in a normal 5x5 12 person league. Hitters just have more value in fantasy baseball.

I'd say the reason why there are so few SP taken early in drafts is because its easier to predict Hitters and you tend to know more of what you get with hitters......ONCE THE SEASON STARTS pitchers are just as valuable as hitters, IMO.

I would also take Snider. He's tearing up the MWL in his first full season at 19. Not a knock on Price, but when you're comparing hitters and pitchers and all things are equal, I would take the hitter.

Ummm are you kidding me? Price has a plus slider with 95+ heat. Add in the fact that he is a big lefty and you are looking at a future top 10 SP. He could probably make the team next year a la Prior, Weaver, Lincecum, etc. He's very polished and ready to contribute. You don't pass up guys like him.

Ive seen the guy pitch in person and his slider is not all that great..He gave up 5 runs to my school, which was one of the worse teams in the SEC. I watched him pitch in the tournament also last week.Pitchers are so much more of a risk than hitters..Just like you cant pass up on guys like Prior and Liriano? Look at them now they are hurt and one of thems career is pretty much gone down the drain. He definitely is talented but so is Snider.

Hitters tend to take longer to develop even when they get to the big show. Price is said to be near MLB ready. We'll see.

The thing about Price is that he is polished but he is the safest pitcher in the draft. There are a handful of HS pitchers with more upside but also more risk. Price has better secondary stuff but a guy like Porcello clearly has more potential but, again, more risk.

Are you people kidding me? Its Price, hands down. This guy is really close to the Majors.

Ive seen the guy pitch in person and his slider is not all that great

And I dont know what your smoking, but this guy has a great slider. Maybe he gave up 5 runs to your school, but he doesn't do that often.

Examples:

Alabama- 9 IP, 0 ER, 10 K
Ole Miss- 10 IP, 2 ER, 14 K
Ohio- 6.1 IP, 1 ER, 12 K
LSU- 8.2 IP, 1 ER, 15 K

And these are just against some of the better teams. his perormances were down right incredable against the lower echelon teams like Ill.-Chi and Austin Peay.
Is pushing for President Obama to pass a law requiring all citizens to be Chicago White Sox fans and make October 1st "White Sox Day" where we all dress as our favorite player. It maybe socialist, but I don't care.
