Question for all you comishes

Postby thecrownjewels » Tue May 29, 2007 12:08 am

I play in a H2H league where you make daily changes. Obviously, once a players game starts you cannot enter them into your lineup for that day. Well, I was looking at the game center today an Dye was on the bench for the commish going into the 7th inning (he had Beltran in who did not play.) When I got home tonight he had Dye in his lineup. It's not as if Dye went off or anything, but is is something that could possibly cost me at the end of the week. The commish is the only person to be able to override this situation. What should I do? Thanks for the help, fellas.

If you're positive that he made the switch in-game (make sure that you weren't accidently looking at a different day the first time or something like that)... you need to call him out on it. That's unethical, because if he's done it once he won't hesitate to do it again.

Well, I sent him a private message and have not got a resposnse back as of yet. I figured I'd give him a chance to right the wrong before I called him out to the rest of the league. And yes I am sure I was looking at things correctly.

are you in a yahoo league?
i don't think you can change the players lineup if they already started playing even if you are a commish.

this is from yahoo:

Lineup changes can be made directly from your team page. If your league allows daily roster moves and lineup changes (all Public Leagues allow daily moves), then you can move players from bench to active positions up to five minutes prior to the scheduled start time of the game involving that player.

I don't believe a commish has the power to do that either. I'm looking at my league right now and every time I want to edit a roster, the date for which the changes will be reflected is the next day (won't let me change it to today or anything).

I can confirm you can't do that as a Yahoo commish. Your eyes may have been playing tricks on you.

No, I am in a Cbssportsline league. I finally got a respose:

"Bro my internet is SOOO limited that i usually can only check it every other day on breaks from rehearsal.

I assume you don't think i would start someone who had the day off? That's why inserting DYE was a no brainer. He was inserted for a guy who had the day off and (I believe) was the only choice I had... Regardless, he is obviously my next guy in the pecking orde of outfielders.

I don't want to make an issue out of it but my integrity in this league has never been questioned. To be honest, i got on went to mondays line-up and set it correctly. I didn't even know the sox had a day game.

I can maek it a public issue and ask the league, if you'd like."

What should I do now?
