Help Out My Team Please (WHIR)

Postby Santana4Cy » Mon May 28, 2007 11:35 pm

Alright fellas, I need some trade suggestions. Right now, I'm sitting tied for 6th (12 team league). It's a keeper league, and this is the first year. We'll be keeping 4 players, and I want to trade for a 1B/3B/OF that I can keep along with Reyes, Hafner and Peavy. I haven't completely given up trying to compete this year, but I am starting to focus on who I'm going to keep next year, so I need some trade suggestions to try and get a guy like Matt Holliday or Carl Crawford.

Here is the point breakdown for my team right now (with the totals in parentheses):

R: 11 (305; 7 behind 1st place)
HR: 2 (50; 3 behind next)
RBI: 4 (240; 1 behind next)
SB: 12 (58; leader)
AVG: 6.5 (.274; .09 behind next)

W: 8 (29; 3 behind next)
SV: 8 (30; 2 behind next)
K: 8 (373; 18 behind next)
ERA: 4 (4.15; .65 behind next)
WHIP: 7.5 (1.29; .03 behind next)

My ERA and WHIP used to be much worse before I picked up Heath Bell, Doug Brocail and Scott Linebrink (all from San Diego). They've really helped drop those numbers lately.

A few weeks ago, I traded OF Jason Bay for SP Jake Peavy and SP Jon Garland for 3B Kevin Youkilis (I had Joe Crede starting).

I need help deciding how I should pursue that one last missing piece in the outfield. Any help would be appreciated, and of course, I'll help in return.

I would look at trading Posada and Abreu for Holliday. Posada Will not have another season like the one he is having and Abreu is on the decline.

I offered the Posada and Abreu for Holliday trade.

The guy countered with Nick Markakis for J.J. Putz.

I don't see Markakis as a keeper for me, so I think I'll pass on it. What does everyone else think?

I think that Markakis for Putz is a bad trade for you. I'd definately try to sell Youkolis and Posada high. Offer one of them as bait, maybe packaged with Matt Morris.

If you can, please help me out?

Do not trade Putz for Markakis! I agree sell high on Posada and try to deal Abreu.
