That's a great call, man. Leary is someone I completely forgot to mention on my shortlist. "No Cure For Cancer" might be one of the best comedy DVD's in my collection. Reading what people had to say about Mitch Hedberg reminds me of another comic who died far before his time...

Haha, I just knew if I showed his mug in here, there would be haters all around.
I'm a sucker for a good deadpan comic. Bob Newhart, Steven Wright, and Mitch Hedberg are/were some of my favorites that were great at the style. Outside of that it's hard to go wrong with biting social comedians like Lewis Black and Bill Hicks.
OK so a bunch of you are all about this Demetri Martin guy, so I went to Comedy Central's site to watch some video clips and see what the hub bub is about.
My initial thoughts: Eh. It's silly but I didn't find it to be roll on the floor hilarious or anything.

Yeah, he's good but not great IMO. His stuff is funny but its not hilarious. He has some cool ideas though that are very different

It was that thing he did with the big notepad that had be laughing so hard; I watched the rest and it was funny, but not as good as the research thing. Like how funny farts are based on location. School is funny. Church is funnier. My face, as you can see, isn't funny at all but my brother's face is off the chart.

Yeah the notebook was the best part and one of the funniest clips I have ever seen. My favorite is hotness of girl versus how much I want to hear about how intuitive her cat is.
That "Mythical creatures" cartoon was great too.
