57/5 K/BB in 64 INN....... He's not going to have quite the Ks in the biggs, but his greatest asset is his control, so I don't see the BBs going up all too much.
Now correct me if I'm wrong, Kevin Slowey does rely on mechanics, but doesn't he actually have a respectable fastball unlike Sowers? I mean I'm not trying to peg Slowey for being a K machine, but I question whether Sowers could break a glass window with a fastball that is Jamie Moyer esq. I also remember reading that Jered Weaver didn't have great stuff and that his great minor league numbers didn't project out to be anything better then a number 3. I really personally think Slowey could be an innings eater, post good ratios with decent k rates and very solid win totals. Is that a fair assesment. Finally, any chance that if Ramon Ortiz is moved to the pen the Twins throw another curveball and call up Matt Garza. I mean Slowey's numbers were better then Baker who they called up. It appeared they went with Baker because he had big league experience, and though Garza doesn't have much, he also has big league experience. Just throwing the out there.
