This is the first year our league commisioner decided to use SH (sacrifice hit) category. What does it take to get a point in this category?

I thought it would be when someone is on third and a hitter gets a sacrifice fly to get the runner in but ive had this happen a few times and i dont get credit for an SH...how does this category work?

Unless I'm missing something, the situation you describe should count as a sacrafice.

On a side note... next to using IP as a category, using sacrafice hits as a category has to be the stupidest thing I've ver heard.

I'm pretty sure what you described is a sac hit... well it's considered a sac "fly" but I'm pretty sure it's the same thing... Another is the sac bunt, I'm sure you've seen pitchers do it. Bunt the ball, runners move up, pitcher gets thrown out.

i agree its the most ridiculous category to use but it doesnt even work.

yahoo has no explanation of how this category is scored all i see is what it stands for... sacrifice hit. Maybe its when someone intends to sacrifice themself but the fielder trips and falls on his face and the runner gets to first.
