Any chance Myers goes back to the rotation this year?

Anybody heard anything in this regard? I still have to think Myers helps the team most as a starter.

you guys think that the reason for the injury could be that he's warming up/pitching differently in the closer's role and that his arm is better suited for starting for some reason?

Has this already been discussed somewhere?

I never actually heard the final results of the MRI. Given the way the Phillies idiotically hid Gordon's injury and let him pitch through it, I wouldn't be surprised if Myers is more seriously hurt than anyone publicly knows about. It was ugly the way he clutched his arm and ran off.

Before I insult Charlie Manual's incompetence to manage a team on my own (aside from being the only manager more capable than Jerry Narron), I like the way Rotoworld described it:

"Myers never required a DL stint as a major leaguer until the Phillies opted to have him change roles during the season and then use him 18 times in 36 days".

Enough said. Turning your ace into a closer midseason is proving to be the worst managerial decision I've seen since I started watching baseball.

I doubt he goes back to being a starter this year. I believe he had said if he went to the bullpen he didn't want to go back to being a starter this year. So I would be very surprised to see Myers starting this year. But he could always change his mind but doubtful.

I just want to see him pitching again this season ... in any role.
As a Harden owner, I am visited with rather vivid nightmares any time a member of my staff hits the DL.

I think it's a possibility but I don't expect it.

He won't go back to the rotation this year.

Are the Phillies planning on moving Hamels to the pen with Myers and Gordon on the shelf?
