watched him pitch twice this season and not impressed, but neither do a lot of guys that do well. i would say not legit and i dont know that he can handle starting games all season, but we will just have to sit and wait.
Groundball pitcher which is good. K rate isn't quite high enough. This is the first time in his career he's shown good control so not sure he can sustain that. I think at best you'd want to pick him up and keep him on your bench another 2 weeks and see what happens.
The ERA and WHIP will certainly rise but he should be a good 3rd or 4th fantasy starter the rest of the way. He induces a ton of groundballs, plays in a good pitchers park, and should get decent run support. Most likely will finish with better numbers than a lot of higher-priced, better-known starters.
I am the Master. Don't question the Master. Just do what he says and be proud.
I spot started him the first 3 -- i.e., pick up from FA for one start and then drop -- but then said "hmmm, this guy is throwing pretty good" so I kept him.
