Come on, now. Shawn has been very solid this year. As a Mets fan, I'm disappointed he broke his foot. But, hey, that's what happens when you're old, I guess. I heard it's not bad, though, and he expects to avoid the DL, but I wouldn't hold my breath.
I love prospects as much as the next guy, but I haven't seen anything from the kids that would make me want them to play over Shawn this year. We need those vets in the clubhouse, too, if we want to make a run at this thing.
It's disappointing Mets fans haven't embraced Shawn very easily. I understand where it comes from, but I don't like it. Not cool to be happy about an injury to one of our own.

Hey Hey I am as big a fan as vets as anyone. But, there has been many a time, especially in the outfield, where time has passed Shawn Green. He would be a perfect left-handed bat off the bench with an occaisonal start. Now that Gomez left the game trying to get to first, everything is up in the air! I am just sick of seeing his weak, yank your head out, lifeless swing when we need a big hit. And no, I am never happy with an injury to one of our own. Let's Go Mets!
Will this, along with whatever Alou goes through for the rest of the year, open up a spot for Milledge again? Any news on him, rotoworld says he may be back in a couple of weeks, just wondering if anyone knew something more substantial about the organizations plans for him this year.
Apparently he's trying to avoid the DL since it's such a minor fracture. Doctors have said he may be out "a few days to a month." Nice prognosis. I think it depends on how much pain he feels today coupled with Alou coming off the DL.
If you're a battery, you're either working or you're dead....
