Travis Lee?

There are rumors that the Cards are a top candidate to get Lee... IMO I think that it would be perfect to get lee hes a gold glove first basemen and then you could put pujols in left field.. I think it would work out pretty good any input?

It'd be just like having Tino at first...Only Lee wouldn't suck.

Ideally, I'd like to have Albert at 1st and have Lankford contribute and be our starting LF. But since that has about a snowballs change in hell of happening I don't think Lee would be a bad pickup at all.

what has travis lee been doing lately? i havent hear about him in awhile, anyways i dont really see him helping our team very much

lee is pretty similar to tino except that lee is showing some signs of improvement wheras tino was regressing. like tino, lee plays good defense and bats lefthanded. the biggest impact that lee would have would not be from his stats but rather that his addition would keep kerry robinson on the bench because pujols would be back in left field. the fewer at bats that kerry gets, the better.

KTRS Radio reported Sunday night that the Cardinals are close to a deal with Travis Lee. They would likely move Albert Pujols back to left field and let Lee man first base -- which would be welcome news to the ground-ball pitchers on the staff, as Lee is an outstanding defensive first baseman. An additional left-handed bat would help as well.

In an interview Sunday night with St. Louis TV station KSDK, manager Tony La Russa was very emphatic about the need to keep Pujols "as part of the core." Pujols is expected to receive a high arbitration salary, and despite occasional public chatter over whether it would be better to trade the young superstar for pitching, La Russa noted that Pujols "could be like a Stan Musial" in St. Louis.

Lee going to Cardinals wouldn't help them much. I dont care what anyone says Pujols is the first baseman of the future for the Cards.

stltoday.com said the cards are no longer looking at lee. they also said edmonds and izzy deferred money on their contracts and speculated that it would be used to attempt to sign maddux but i think it is just going to be used to cover albert's contract. i think they will sign him to a one year deal and avoid arbitration this year.
